Weight Loss and Better Health through Raw Foods

Obesity:

Just a few decades ago, our ancestors have survived and even thrived on a diet of raw foods, mainly fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouted seeds and grains, dried fruit and juices, rolled or flaked grains, with a few herbs and spices.

When times were abundant, animals and fish were also included in their diet, but the average diet was composed mainly of fruits and vegetables. The men and women were fit, and everyone had a variety of daily physical activities like walking and running.

Everything rocked along rather well until somewhere, someone discovered fire, and thus we began the long downward spiral that ultimately led us to today's 'processed foods'.

In just three generations, our society has taken a comparatively healthy diet and while attempting to make it look more appealing, we've gotten off course, way off course.

Today's highly processed foods are definitely more attractive and looks really good on the shelf, which makes it more marketable. In addition to making it look more appetizing, we've put in countless chemicals to lengthen the preservation of the product, making its shelf life nearly unlimited.

The distressing news is that these overly processed foods have no real nutritional value anymore, and fiber has been all but forgotten.

French fries and ketchup are the two most commonly consumed vegetables at a time when we also find ourselves plagued with arthritis, attention deficit disorder, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes and cancer.

Add high levels of stress, sedentary jobs, poor air and water quality and it's no wonder we're a more obese, malnourished, infertile yet angry and violent society today.

Is it plausible that as simple as raw food can solve so many of our social issues?

Let's see. The recommended daily servings are two to three fruits and three to five vegetables.

People often interpret it as five servings of fruit and vegetables when the ideal should be a maximum of eight servings.

That means a daily consumption of eight servings of nutritionally dense foods that are intended to satisfy you so you will feel full and eat less.

Additionally, weight loss is almost a certainty when you shift your focus from processed foods to fresh fruits and raw vegetables.

Since calorie and carbohydrate intake are substantially lowered when eating raw foods, it will be hard to overeat on such foods. Another positive outcome of a high water and fiber content diet is a feeling of fullness, a healthier digestive system, and a detoxified body with increased anti-aging properties.

A drastic shift toward raw food can overwhelm your body and it is highly recommended that you gradually increase your intake of raw food over several days while at the same time reducing the amount of processed foods.

You will find yourself spending less time in the kitchen preparing foods and more time enjoying them.

However, you may also find yourself spending more time in the produce section of the supermarket since raw foods do not have vast quantities of chemicals, hence you should only buy items that you expect to consume over a short period of time to control freshness.

A lot of meal plans intended to contain raw foods in your daily life can be found online, and when integrated with the health improving elements of Weight Loss Breeze, you can be assured of a healthier, slimmer and revitalized YOU!
