Tips on getting rid of Dandruff

Dandruff:

Dandruff is a condition affecting the epidermal (outer) skin layer of the scalp characterized by itching and scaling of the scalp. More serious cases of dandruff can affect the facial areas as well. As it is normal for skin cells to die and flake off, a small amount of flaking is normal and in fact quite common. Dandruff only occurs when the skin of head beneath the hear becomes dry and small particles from that skins start coming out and this problems is due to many causes which can be determined either clinically or by some sort of tests so the need is to consult dermatologist instead of looking for natural remedies.

Orange peelings or any citrus fruits. It kills the germs that inhibit dandruff. Stress can be a contributor.

Try washing your hair with normal shampoo and rinse your hair in 2 quarts of water and a 1/3 cup of cider vinegar this should kill your Dandruff problem.I smell of the vinegar gos away after it dry. My mom bless her heart always rainse her hair in cider vinegar and water she never had Dandruff.

Mix the olive oil with the almond oil. Apply and leave it on about 5 mins then rinse well to clear dandruff.

Massage your hair with warm coconut oil and apply the juice of two lemons, leave the oil on for about 2 hours. Shampoo with a mild shampoo. Repeat 2-3 times a week.

Another option that you can also use is mixing 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar with 1/4 cup water. You just pour it into a spray bottle and spritz it on to your hair and scalp. Wrap your head in a towel and let it sit for 15 min to an hour. Then wash your hair. It's best to do this once or twice a week. It doesn't smell great, but you wash it off.

Taking bath with a few drops of dettol added to the water helps in checking the infection.

As far as your hair care, if you have textured hair, use Creme of Nature conditioning/detangling shampoo after using Nizoral. The hair care professionals said that the Nizoral lowers the pH of your hair, but the conditioning/detangling shampoo raises it back up. Try Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil Shampoo for dry scalp. Also consider washing hair less frequently -- washing it everyday or more can deplete some of the oils in the scalp that help keep it hydrated.

If you do have dandruff, I have suggestions.
1) Use selsun blue, which is dandruff shampoo.
2) Use olive oil to massage it on your scalp. It really helped.

Put raw egg in your hair and massage into your scalp, also try adding coconut or baby oil to it. leave it in for 15-30 minutes (depending on the severity) once a week
